we rented it a few weeks ago and i thought it was quite interesting myself
No... fascinating.
I rented it the night before last and only had time to watch it once ...barely... before it had to be returned.
It didn't strike me as a game-to-movie adaptation...
The parallels of the film, including the eerie alternate-dimension like feel of the town of Silent Hill and today's modern world intriqued me beyond belief. Going from one to another throughout the film just blew my mind.
The religious overtones and metaphors for heaven, hell, and even a state of purgatory also kept me glued to the TV.
I'm just going to say that I plan to buy it soon, watch it many more times, and catch things that I didn't before...
For some reason, it won't let me post the Wikipedia link for the film, but do check it out.

Maybe I will rent it....
I really liked it, but the ending sucked.
the ending annoyed me too...
Just bought it.
On the contrary, I like the ending.
Disheartening and depressing, if you ask me; I interpreted it as Rose and Sharon never being able to return to their reality to be with Christopher and stuck in the Hell (or purgatory?) that is Silent Hill's reality.
I was disappointed with the film, being a big fan of SH, but I loved what they did with Pyramid Head.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Indeed, they really did an amazing job following the story exactly the way the game is, besides the fact that in the movie they had the mother look for the daughter instead of the father but the woman figure is more dramatic. Other then that, movie is great, the ending was just horrible, but then again, the endings to Silent Hill sucked as well so they did an excellent job following the story lolOriginally posted by Gareee:

Everyone always says what a great job the film did with PH, but did I miss something? When I watched the movie it seems like PH has perhaps 20, maybe 30 seconds total screen time? Reading about the games and such it seems like he is the main bad guy, but the movie really told me next to nothing about him. Is he in more scenes on the DVD they are selling? Thanks!
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I haven't heard anything on deleted scenes for the DVD. I read that all you get is the movie along with BIO's on the characters in the movie/game. Pretty lame if you ask me, they could of added a lot more extra's and deleted scenes. I heard there was an alternate ending but they fail to release that on the DVD as well. My guess is, they will be releasing Silent Hill again with all the bonus crap just like every other DVD that comes out, just gotta wait another 10 yearsOriginally posted by chash1840:
